What to do after an IPL Session

01. Cleanse

Use a gentle, soap-free cleanser and lukewarm water to keep the skin clean without causing irritation or disrupting the peeling process.

02. Moisturize

Apply a thick, bland emollient frequently to seal in moisture and provide a protective barrier while the new skin layers form.

03. Avoid Sweating

Refrain from intense exercise, saunas, or hot showers for several days to prevent trapped sweat from causing inflammation or blistering under the healing skin.

04. Sun Protection

Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily and stay out of direct sunlight to prevent hyperpigmentation on the highly sensitive, newly exposed skin.

05. Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water to support your body's natural healing process and maintain skin elasticity from the inside out.

The full breakdown for TCA Peels
  • Expect peeling, redness and sensitivity for up to 7–14 days; deeper peels may take longer. These are normal parts of healing.

  • Keep the treated area clean and dry. Gently cleanse with a mild, non‑abrasive cleanser and lukewarm water; pat dry with a soft towel.

  • Do not pick, rub or peel flaking skin. Let it slough naturally to avoid scarring and hyperpigmentation.

  • Apply only products recommended by your provider. Typically this includes a gentle moisturizer, barrier ointment (eg, petroleum jelly) in the initial days, and prescribed topical treatments as directed.

  • Avoid active ingredients (retinoids, exfoliants, vitamin C, acids) until your provider clears them.

  • Strict sun protection is essential: avoid sun exposure, wear a broad‑spectrum SPF 30+ daily, and use physical barriers (hat, clothing). Skin is more susceptible to sun damage and pigmentation after a peel.

  • Avoid heat and sweating (hot showers, saunas, intense exercise) for several days to limit irritation.

  • Makeup should be avoided until re‑epithelialisation is complete or until your provider says it’s safe.

  • Stay hydrated and avoid smoking; both support healing.

  • Expect temporary changes in skin tone; if you notice prolonged redness, severe swelling, signs of infection (increasing pain, pus, fever), or unexpected pigmentation changes, contact your provider promptly.

  • Follow scheduled follow‑up visits so your provider can monitor healing and advise when to resume normal skincare.
